Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has admitted he is looking at strikers Vincent Pericard and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie with a view to making a signing.
"Both of them are not on trial, as such, but we're having a look at their fitness," Johnson told BBC Points West.
Pericard, 26, is a free agent after he was released by Stoke City while Owusu-Abeyie, 23, plays for Spartak Moscow.
Both are potential replacements for Andreus Velicka who suffered a serious knee injury on his debut.
Velicka had been signed on a season-long loan from Rangers but lasted just five minutes in the 1-0 win against QPR and has since returned to Scotland for treatment.

"We're just having a look at them and will make an honest judgement," added Johnson.
Owusu-Abeyie is a Ghanaian international, having also represented Holland at Under-21 level. He spent three seasons at Arsenal making just 25 first team appearances before moving to Spartak Moscow in 2006.
Since then he has been loaned out to a number of clubs including Birmingham City and most recently Cardiff City.
French striker Pericard has played at a number of clubs in Europe, including spells at Juventus and Portsmouth, before being signed by Stoke City in 2006 where he made 45 appearances and scored six goals.
