Bristol City boss Gary Johnson wants to see more commitment and desire from his squad after their lacklustre performance against Birmingham.
The Robins went down to a late Franck Queudrue goal and are now eighth in the table when they could have gone fourth.
"Getting beaten 1-0 at Birmingham is no disaster, but we didn't give it enough of a go," Johnson told BBC Points West.
"Not enough players produced their best football and that's what I was angry with because the prize was so big."
After a run of five successive wins pushed City into play-off contention, they have faltered in recent weeks picking up four points from their last four games.
And Johnson refused to talk to the media after the defeat at St Andrews.
"I'm always disappointed with a defeat but I get angry with the manner of a defeat sometimes," he added.
"On the day only a few individuals performed and we certainly didn't do enough to win the game.
"We had the one opportunity, we played some neat football on a poor pitch on occasions but we weren't effective enough to create enough chances to win the game and that's why I was disappointed."
"The prize was a fourth-place spot and I didn't feel enough of them showed me in their body language that they wanted to get in to fourth spot."
