Birmingham 1-0 Bristol City

Birmingham moved back into the automatic promotion places after a late goal by Franck Queudrue earned them a deserved win against Bristol City.

French defender Queudrue powerfully headed home a Lee Bowyer corner with just minutes remaining.

Radhi Jaidi and Martin Taylor both hit the crossbar and Dele Adebola pulled an effort wide as the Blues dominated.

Gavin Williams had an effort saved by Maik Taylor and Nicky Maynard cleared the bar with a shot for the visitors.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish:
"It's as much as we've dominated a game the entire season.

Saying that, Bristol are a very slick side and counter-attacked well.

"We retained our belief until the death, had plenty of corners, and it was a relief to see Franck get on the end of one.

"It was a great approach from the players and a great spirit."

Bristol City coach Alan Walsh:

"If Dele Adebola's chance goes in then it changes the complex of the game and you've got something to hold on to.

"We thought we were holding out and then at the end they got the goal.

"But it's a hard place to come, they put you under a lot of pressure and for 87 minutes we held out."
