Bristol City's rise up the table slowed as struggling Blackpool held on for a point at Ashton Gate.
Michael McIndoe tested Paul Rachubka with a crisp effort, after Bradley Orr and Gavin Williams had both gone close.
Brett Ormerod turned in the box, but only found Adriano Basso's midriff in a rare foray forwards for the Seasiders.
Liam Fontaine saw a header clawed away and McIndoe's effort was cleared off the line as Gary Johnson's men applied second-half pressure in vain.
Bristol City manager Gary Johnson: "We were disappointed not to score at home. Blackpool didn't come out of their defensive third too many times and tried to hit us on the break.
"In those sort of games we need to open teams up earlier.
"We did have a lot of opportunities in the second half and I said to the lads I didn't feel we were quite up to our standard today."
Blackpool caretaker manager Tony Parkes: "This is a huge result. Our back four and keeper were outstanding - I had to make changes after the last game and I got the response I wanted.
"Other results didn't go for us, but we cannot affect what other clubs do. We have added to our tally and have 11 vitally important matches ahead of us.
"We can now go into the derby game with Burnley on Tuesday in high spirits."
