Bristol City captain Louis Carey says his team must not be frightened of their Championship rivals this season.
Carey, 31, skippered the Robins to fourth place and the play-offs last year and told BBC Points West that Gary Johnson's side can now go one better.
"We didn't have any fear and we've got to look at it the same way. Just work hard and our ability and team spirit will come out," said Carey.
"Hopefully we can turn it around and make it automatic [promotion]."
Bristol City missed out on promotion to the Premiership when they lost 1-0 to Hull City in the Championship play-off final in May.
"The only problem would be if we start dwelling on last season and since we've been back [at training] we haven't," added Carey.
"We got it out of our system straight away and we're looking forward to this season.

Carey looking for winning momentum
"When you play in front of a decent crowd and atmosphere it's something that you miss.
"There's no reason why we can't be up there again."
