Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk says he will try to keep his feet on the ground after earning praise from manager Gus Poyet.

The 18-year-old made his second appearance for the first team in the 1-1 draw away at Tranmere on Saturday.

Dunk told BBC Sussex: "Its good to get opportunities like this. I didn't think it would come so quickly.

"My whole family keep telling me to keep grounded and do what I'm doing every day."

He added: "It was my first 90 minutes since my rehab on my stress factor on my ankle.

"I've only played 45 minutes before this so it was tough in the second half - a big grind."

Dunk is now aiming to keep impressing Poyet and continue his involvement in the first team.

"I'll keep hoping for theses opportunities, showing what I can do, giving 100 percent every time," he added.

"Hopefully he'll see what I'm made of."
