Johnson modest after debut brace

New Brighton loan signing Bradley Johnson says the whole team should take credit for their comeback against Leicester on Tuesday.

Johnson scored with two long-range debut strikes to help the Seagulls turn around a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.

He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "It's not just me who changed the game, everyone put a good performance in.

"I just want to bring a spark to midfield, the gaffer's told me to come in and support the forwards."

Johnson, who describes himself as a box-to-box player, had only trained with the Seagulls for an hour before being thrown straight into the starting line-up.

The 21-year-old Leeds midfielder hopes that Brighton can kick-start their season after ending a run of 10 league games without a win.

He said: "It's always nice to come in, settle the nerves and get a goal. Hopefully we can take this on now. The boys here seem to have a never say die attitude.

"I'm here till January now and hopefully get a good run of games under my belt. Anything can happen in January."
