Johnson has found himself on the fringes of the first team this season
Leeds United manager Gary McAllister has told Bradley Johnson that it is up to him to get back into the first team.
The 21-year-old midfielder has made just four appearances this season, three of those as a substitute.
McAllister told BBC Radio Leeds: "He's just fallen into that area where he can't make the bench or the squad, so it's tough.
"We've got a lot of players here so it's up to Brad to get his head down and get cracking again."
Johnson joined Leeds on a free transfer from Northampton in January and made 24 appearances last season, scoring three goals.
He has found first-team opportunities limited this season after the arrival of fellow midfielders Andy Robinson and Robert Snodgrass and the emergence of academy product Fabian Delph.
His last appearance for Leeds was against Bradford in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on 2 September.
