Bradford City appeal against James Hanson red card
Hanson, 22, has scored twice for Bradford this season
Bradford City have appealed against James Hanson's sending off during Saturday's game with Oxford United.
The striker received a straight red card along with Oxford defender Jake Wright after the two tangled midway through the second-half.
After studying the match DVD, Bantams manager Peter Taylor wrote to the Football Association and a decision will be made on Tuesday.
If his three-match ban is overturned Hanson will be able to play at Bury.
Taylor told BBC Radio Leeds: "We are appealing and have already sent the email to the FA.
"We feel the sending off was unfair and that the assistant referee has made an error, not on purpose of course, but we just feel James did not deserve to get send off.
"If he deserved to be sent off then we would accept it and not appeal and I'd be punishing James like I've done before with players who deserved to get sent off.
"If people lose their discipline they deserve to get sent off and punished but in James's case here even if we don't win the appeal I will not be fining him or anything like that because the sending off was not fair.
"I have watched the DVD of the game very carefully and he didn't deserve to get sent off.
"His disciplinary record is very good and it would be unfair for him to miss three games just as he's getting fit and back in form again."
