Omar Daley grabbed a brace as 10-man Bradford thrashed nine-man Oxford.
Daley put the Bantams ahead after the break with a right-footed shot and then added a second with his left before Lee Hendrie's penalty made it 3-0.
Oxford's Mark Creighton was then shown a second yellow card, as team-mate Jake Wright and City's James Hanson were also sent off for violent conduct.
David Syers volleyed in Bradford's fourth before Louis Moult struck late on to increase Oxford's misery.
Bradford City Manager Peter Taylor told BBC Radio Leeds: "I think that there were good spells in the first half, not as many as I would have liked though.
"I thought in the second-half we showed our quality and scored some fantastic goals.
"The red card for James Hanson wasn't deserved as far as I'm concerned, I didn't see any elbow whatsoever.
"I just hope it's really clear on the DVD, because if it's not clear, we can't do anything about it."
