Taylor has signed a deal with Bradford until the end of the season

Bradford City manager Peter Taylor has ordered his side to be more consistent following their defeat by Port Vale.

Tuesday night's 2-1 loss at Vale Park was Taylor's third in six games since he took charge.

Taylor told BBC Radio Leeds: "I enjoyed watching this team play against Rochdale and Rotherham, but I didn't enjoy watching tonight.

"We need to be more consistent. This was a bad game, but not as bad as the Accrington game. That says something."

"Thing like this happen and if you join a club 18th in the league you are not expecting to win every match," he continued.

"We stepped backwards in this match and didn't play as well as we have done. But I still think we've improved."

The West Yorkshire side have beaten League Two leaders Rochdale, Rotherham United and Darlington during Taylor's brief period in time, but lost to Accrington Stanley, Aldershot and now Port Vale.

"You have to be hopefully of seeing steady improvement and I think we are progressing in the right direction. But they've set themselves a standard in certain matches but then not met those again in others," he said.
