Bradford City sign Huddersfield Town's Matt Glennon
Glennon's last first-team game was in November 2008
Bradford City have signed Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Matt Glennon until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old arrives at the League Two club after having his Town contract cancelled by mutual consent - after more than 13 months without playing.
The former Carlisle man told BBC Radio Leeds: "I'm looking forward to it and it wasn't hard to move because I haven't played for so long.
"It's all about playing matches and if you aren't playing you need to move."
Glennon spent three and a half years at Huddersfield after signing from St Johnstone and made 122 appearances.
"I've had some fantastic times at Huddersfield and made some great friends, but I need to be out playing first-team football on a Saturday and not being on the bench," he said.
"I've had enquires from other League One clubs but Bradford's appealed to me and it was a move where I could start playing straight away. We've done what we've had [having his Town contract cancelled] in order to get me able to play."
Bradford have been looking for a new goalkeeper since Simon Eastwood returned to Huddersfield in January following a four-month loan spell.
Bradford manager Stuart McCall told the club's website: "He's a keeper with a great pedigree and good track record."
"He (Glennon) brings a lot of experience with him, which is exactly what we're after," said McCall. "He is also very vocal and a good talker which is important."

McCall said he had been tracking Glennon from the moment he realised that Eastwood would be returning to Town, but a deal initially looked impossible.
"We instantly looked to bring him in and the move looked promising as Matt was keen to come" he said.
"Unfortunately certain aspects in the deal stopped us from doing so and it looked like we'd have to look somewhere else.
"Things managed to change though, and we are delighted to get him on a package that suits both parties."
Glennon, who has failed to break into the first team at Huddersfield this season because of the form of Alex Smithies, is looking forward to the challenge ahead and hopes to secure a quick return to League One.
"When the opportunity to come here came up I jumped at it," he said.
"Six points (off the play-offs) is nothing at this stage of the season. I have spoken to some of the lads already and they are more than sure we can get up there."
Glennon will make his Bradford debut in Saturday's game at home to Notts County.
