Bradford City manager Stuart McCall will keep a close eye on unattached veteran forward Bruce Dyer.
Dyer, 33, released by Chesterfield in the summer, has been training with City as he recovers from a back injury and scored for their reserves against York.
"Signing Bruce was never in his or my thoughts, but now it is a possibility," McCall explained to BBC Radio Leeds.
"He was excellent against York and while we are not looking to sign him now, you never say never."
Dyer made five loan appearances for the West Yorkshire outfit back in 2007, scoring one goal.
McCall added: "He's not on trial as such with us at the moment, just training to get his fitness up.
"But when you have someone playing as well as he is right on your doorstep it makes you think and I'll certainly not rule signing him out all together.
"He's done a lot of training with the youngsters here and that has really help their development.
"If he wants to train with us for a bit longer then that will be great."
