Former Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn and local businessman Adam Murry are on the verge of completing a takeover of the League Two club.
The pair are heading a consortium that has struck a deal with want-away chairman Paul Baker.
Cherries chief executive Alastair Saverimutto told BBC Radio Solent: "I don't expect to be back at the club.
"The players need to be paid, and aside from that you've got other bills which need paying today."
Saverimutto had previously stated that he was in negotiations with a consortium based in the Middle East, but said the advantage of selling to Mostyn and Murry would be the speed in which the deal could be completed.
"The people I'm dealing with are out there, but that deal would take time and the club don't have that," said Saverimutto.
"You've also got a situation where Paul Baker is carrying a ball and chain around his neck, which has a significant affect on him, and that needs to be released.
"At least a deal's been offered to him that allows him to rip that up" Saverimutto added.
"The club needs a cash injection of half a million pounds just to get it through the short-term."
Mostyn originally arrived at Dean Court in March 2007 and left the club in July 2008 after the Cherries were placed in administration.
