Bournemouth chief executive Alastair Saverimutto says giving Eddie Howe the manager's job until the end of the season was not about saving money.
The ex-Cherries defender, 31, had been the club's centre of excellence manager of before being given the job on a caretaker basis on New Year's Eve.
Saverimutto told BBC Radio Solent: "It's not about how we can save money.
"Eddie has all the qualities you need to take this team forward. He's got everything this club requires."
Howe was appointed on a full-time basis until the end of the season at the weekend.
