Bournemouth chief executive Alastair Saverimutto says the club are set to make a major announcement about development work at Dean Court.

The Cherries are set to unveil plans which could include housing and a hotel on land around the club's stadium.

Saverimutto told BBC Radio Solent: "I'm working very closely with the powers that be in the town, and these are exciting times for the club."

Dean Court was redeveloped into an all-seater stadium in 2001.

The old stands of the ground, which was opened in 1910, were demolished and the pitch turned through 90 degrees.

However, financial pressures meant that only three permanent stands were built - although a temporary stand was in place at the empty fourth end between September 2005 and the end of the 2007/08 season.

The stadium was sold to London-based property company Structadene in December 2005, and leased back by the club.
