Poole Pirates have won the Elite league title for the first time in four years after beating the Lakeside Hammers 60-33 on Monday night. Poole won their home tie convincingly having gained a six-point advantage from the first leg at Lakeside. Skipper Bjarne Pedersen led the way for the Pirates, scoring a paid maximum. Poole promoter Matt Ford told BBC Radio Solent "It's amazing, it is the nicest team I've put on the track, I now want to add the cup later in the month." Poole travel to Eastbourne for the first leg of the Knockout Cup final on Saturday, 25 October. The return leg is at Poole on the following day.
