Powell was released by Charlton Athletic this summer
Veteran former England left-back Chris Powell has been handed a trial by League Two side Bournemouth.
The 38-year-old, who was released by Charlton Athletic this summer, could replace Warren Cummings, who had a transfer request granted last week.
Cherries boss Kevin Bond told the Daily Echo: "Chris is such a good professional, he's a fitness fanatic.
"He is such a good influence that I just thought it was too good an opportunity for us to pass up."
Powell, who played 270 games for the Addicks in three separate spells at The Valley, won five caps for England after being called up by Sven-Goran Eriksson in 2001 at the age of 31.
