Khizanishvili joined Blackburn from Rangers in 2005

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce says he will allow defender Zurab Khizanishvili to leave the club on loan.

The Georgian is a reported target of Middlesbrough and with the emergency loan window now open, a move for the former Rangers man is likely.

Allardyce told BBC Radio Lancashire: "The strength and depth of the squad means that he needs to play some first team football.

"Middlesbrough would be a really good opportunity to show how good he is."
