Blackburn defender Zurab Khizanishvili has signed a new three-year deal with the Premier League club. Georgia captain Khizanishvili, 26, arrived at Ewood Park permanently in the summer of 2006 following a loan spell from Glasgow Rangers.
He is now under contract with Rovers until 2011 despite having made only a handful of appearances this season.
Ryan Nelsen and Christopher Samba are manager Mark Hughes' preferred centre-back partnership this campaign.
