Barrow joint-boss Darren Sheridan warns of FA Cup upset

Barrow joint-boss Darren Sheridan has warned his players against complacency in Sunday's FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at FC United.

The Bluebirds travel to Bury's Gigg Lane to take on a United side with an average gate of 1,723, far beyond their peers in Evo-Stik Premier.

"You know what the FA Cup is about, we've seen before there are upsets," Sheridan told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"They'll have a big following behind them and we'll be in for a tough game."

The Bluebirds have enjoyed FA Cup success as underdogs in the last two seasons, facing Premier League sides Middlesbrough and Sunderland after reaching the third round stage.

Meanwhile the league does remain a priority, with Barrow currently on a run of seven games without a win.

"Everyone wants to play as high as we can, we've got big clubs in that league, and you want to stay there in that league, playing good clubs at good grounds," Sheridan added.

"There are a lot of ex-league clubs in our league, Luton, Mansfield and York, no disrespect to the teams in the league we came out of, we don't want to be travelling to Workington on a Tuesday night.

"The players have tasted success at Wembley in the FA Trophy, in the final, and winning that, and the players want as much success as they can."
