Bayliss was frustrated by Mark Boyd's disallowed goal

Barrow joint-boss Dave Bayliss was left to rue his side's profligacy after Tuesday's 2-1 defeat by Gateshead tipped them into the relegation zone.

The Bluebirds created several chances, and even had a goal chalked off when play was pulled back for a free-kick after Mark Boyd's shot had gone in.

"We've created enough chances to win four games," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"Both strikers should have been going away with the match ball. It was a very frustrating night."

Boyd's strike would have levelled the scores, following former Bluebirds loanee Peter Winn's opener.

And Bayliss said: "I can't explain, it's a free-kick to us, and he's played on, then we've had the ball in the back of the net and he's pulled it back for a free-kick.

"We've then had their last man pull Jason Walker back and he's got a yellow card, I don't understand the rules of the game whether the last man gets sent off or gets a yellow card but you can understand why people get frustrated.

"I had to bite my lip at times and say a few prayers just to keep myself calm."

Barrow are now 21st in the Blue Square Premier, level on points with Gateshead but with three games in hand.
