Gateshead 2-1 Barrow

Gateshead moved out out of the Blue Square Premier relegation zone and plunged Barrow into the bottom four with a narrow victory.

Peter Winn gave the home side the lead after seven minutes, heading in Andy Parkinson's right-wing cross.

Jason Walker fired the visitors level with a low drive from the right side of the penalty area.

But Phil Turnbull hit the winner two minutes before the break with a fierce 25-yard shot into the top corner.

Barrow almost snatched an equaliser deep into second-half stoppage-time when keeper Paul Farman was called upon to tip Phil Bolland's 96th-minute header around the post.
