Barrow have extended the loan spell of Rochdale defender Marcus Holness for a further month.
However the League Two side have the option of recalling the 20-year-old at 24 hours notice.
"Marcus is really enjoying his time up there and has done exceptionally well for Barrow," said Rochdale manager Keith Hill.
"He is still very much in our plans so the 24-hour recall that we have means we are in a win-win situation."
Holness joined Barrow on a one-month loan deal in January and has impressed after replacing Steve McNulty in defence.
"He really needed to get some games under his belt and we can see in training that he has really benefitted from them," said Hill.
However, Hill also revealed that Holness could be recalled as early as this weekend if Rochdale fail in their bid to have Nathan Stanton's red card rescinded.
There will be one or two definitely coming in but we're not panicking
Barrow joint-boss Dave Bayliss
Stanton was sent-off in last weekend's 4-2 win at Aldershot.
Meanwhile, Barrow joint-boss Dave Bayliss has confirmed that a striker is top of his priority list when the emergency loan window opens after striker Wayne Curtis was recalled to parent club Morecambe.
"We missed out on a couple of players in the transfer window but we do have lads lined-up," Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"There will be one or two definitely coming in but we're not panicking, Paul Tait and Nick Rogan are both good players and that's why they're still here.
"With the squad we've got we are really confident we can stay in this league," he added.
