Joyce has made five first-team starts for Carlisle this season
Barrow have completed the signing of Carlisle United midfielder Luke Joyce on a one-month loan deal.
Joyce, 21, trained with the Bluebirds on Wednesday night and will go straight into the squad for Friday's FA Cup tie against Brentford.
"He's an all-action midfielder who gets up and down," joint-boss Dave Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We've had good reports about him and I'm sure he'll do well for us. He will definitely strengthen what we've got."
The Bolton-born player began his career with Wigan Athletic where he made one first-team appearance, against Leeds United, in the FA Cup.
He joined Carlisle in July 2006, making his debut against Cheltenham Town in September of that year.

His first goal came in the 5-0 home win over Gillingham in March 2007.
"He's a player we've had watched a lot. I watched him last season too," Bayliss said.
"Andy Bond and Mark Boyd have both been struggling in training this week which left us with just Ashley Winn and Darren Sheridan for the central midfield places.
"Luke will definitely strengthen us but whether he starts or not remains to be seen."
Joyce, who can also play at right-back, has made five first-team starts for the Cumbrians this season in League One.
He has made a total of 19 appearances for Carlisle, scoring two goals.
Carlisle caretaker-boss Greg Abbott has given permission for Joyce to play in Friday night's televised FA Cup second round tie against Brentford at Holker Street.
Meanwhile Barrow have applied to extend the loan of Scotland under-19 goalkeeper Alan Martin for the permitted 93 day loan spell from League One rivals Leeds United.
