Lee Phillips' header 18 minutes from time earned Rushden a valuable point against FA Cup giant-killers Barrow.
The visitors, fresh from last week's Cup win over League Two's Brentford, opened the scoring after 11 minutes.
Mark Boyd was the creator, his cross from the left wing dispatched with aplomb by Jason Walker from six yards.
Luke Joyce could have extended that lead but fired wide from long range and Phillips made Barrow pay, heading home Marcus Kelly's cross to salvage a draw.
