Bayliss is hoping to make moves in the loan market this week

Barrow joint-manager Dave Bayliss is hoping to add up to two new faces to his squad this week.

Bayliss had made no secret of his attempts to strengthen the Bluebirds' squad in recent weeks with players set to move out of Holker Street.

"We've spoken to two players and it's looking quite hopeful so we'll see how things go towards the end of the week.

"We're still looking. Everyday we are looking to try and strengthen in certain areas," Bayliss said.

Barrow currently have goalkeeper Alan Martin and striker Richard Brodie in on loan from Leeds United and York City respectively.

Bayliss would not reveal the identity of his targets but indicated that the players are currently with Football League clubs.

"We don't need too much money to spend because we can bring good young lads in on loan from League clubs," Bayliss said.

"That's really the area we are looking at. We've had a quite productive week.

"We've got the backing of the chairman and the board who've given us permission to strengthen."

Bayliss gave no indication of whether any more players would be moving out of the club in the next few weeks following Lee Hunt's move to Fleetwood Town on a month's loan last week.

Fellow forward Nick Rogan moved to Vauxhall Motors last month on a temporary basis before suffering a fractured cheekbone.
