Aldershot Town defender Simon Grand says he is ready to win a permanent spot in the starting XI.
The 26-year-old made his first start against Barnet on Tuesday, but the match was abandoned because of fog.
He told BBC Surrey: "It's been a while since I've had a game. It was good to be back on the pitch and have a ball at my feet.
"It might take a while to get that sharpness and match fitness back but you can only get that through games."
Grand has joined the Shots on loan until the end of the season from Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Fleetwood Town.

"At the moment I'm not in the plans at Fleetwood, not that I've had a chance really," the former Rochdale trainee added.
"When the opportunity arose to come to Aldershot it was one I couldn't turn down.
"Everyone has made me really welcome so it's been easy settling in."
