Kettering 0-0 Crawley Town

FA Cup giant-killers Crawley missed the chance to return to the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier after being held to a goalless draw by mid-table Kettering.

Home goalkeeper Willy Gueret turned a Pablo Mills shot over the bar and tipped over a Craig McAllister header.

For Kettering veteran striker Paul Furlong shot against a post shortly after the break and in the final stages Ian Roper headed wide from six yards.

But Crawley wasted several chances, Ben Smith and Richard Brodie firing wide.

Kettering manager Marcus Law told BBC Radio Northampton:

"Since we played them in January our performances have been excellent. The pleasing side is we're now doing it week in, week out.

"We weren't getting the rewards to begin with, but we are now. Clean sheets are a must and we're keeping those, and certainly we're having the opportunities to win games.

"Unfortunately that didn't come off tonight but we kept ourselves in the game against a fantastic outfit and could even have nicked it in the end."
