Aldershot Town defender Aaron Morris is pleased to have made his full debut for the club after two appearances from the substitute's bench.
The 20-year-old Welshman played the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
He told BBC Surrey: "The gaffer said that I wouldn't be starting the season but I was in his plans.
"He said that if I kept on going I'd be able to nail down a starting place. I'm over the moon that I got my debut."
He added: "In training I was put in the starting XI shape when we ran through a few things trying to deal with how Wycombe might play."

Morris revealed he found out he was set to start from one of his teammates.
"Darren Jones had a late fitness test and he sent a text to me about one o'clock," he said.
"That's when I knew I'd be playing."
