Aldershot goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz says he does not see himself as Nikki Bull's replacement.
The 25-year-old Venezuelan has been ever-present since Shots veteran Bull's departure in the summer.
He told BBC Surrey: "I wouldn't like and I wouldn't dare to fill the shoes of Nikki Bull or the things that he's done at the club.
"I'm doing my own thing and enjoying actually playing because I waited a while," he added.
Jaimez-Ruiz spent two seasons as an understudy to Bull, who made over 200 appearances for the Shots over a seven-year period before joining Brentford.
He said: "It's difficult to wait and actually get the chance as a keeper to perform well. You always want to impress, but actually it's better to let things happen.
"That's what I've been doing this season, not getting comfortable but just letting things happen and that's what I'm going to keep doing."
