Aldershot striker Scott Donnelly is pleased that his side reacted to the death of chairman John McGinty with a win on Saturday.
Donnelly scored twice in the 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley, their first victory since the opening day.
He told BBC Surrey: "I owe a lot to him [McGinty] because he gave the chance to rejuvenate my career here.
"We didn't really need a team talk. We knew what we had to do when we heard the sad news."
"It was important to get a good result because the last two haven't gone our way."

Donnelly's two goals were his first since the opening day of the 2008/09 season, also scored against Accrington.
He said: "I did actually forget how to score a goal, for over a year to be honest.
"It's lovely to get my name on the scoresheet - twice. Hopefully there's many more to come, not just against Accrington."
