Waddock led Aldershot to the Blue Square Premier title last year
Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock says a lack of funds is preventing him from bringing in any loan players.
The newly promoted outfit are lying in 14th place in League Two, but have managed just five wins from 15.
Waddock told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "It would be nice if I could, but I don't have the resources.
"We've got a group of players that have done reasonably well since stepping up from the Conference, but sometimes you need to bring a loan player in or two."
Waddock appreciates that the investment required for a squad to challenge for the top places in League Two will and should not appear overnight.
"We can't get too carried away, we must remember what fantastic strides this club has taken in the last couple of years.
"There has to be a base and foundation before we can go to the next level, we don't want this club to go back to the desperate years they've had."
