Michael Hart keeps tabs on Charlie Miller

In the 26th minute, United midfielder Miller bundled his way through the Livi defence but his deflected shot from the edge of the box came off the bar.

The ball fell kindly to Lilley but his shot went straight into the arms of Juan-Xavier Broto.

Just seconds before the half time break the home side took the lead when Lilley picked up the ball from Steven Thompson and curled a left-foot shot past Broto into the bottom corner.

In the 50th minute the visitors had a good chance to equalise when Phillipe Brinquin's cross found David Bingham unmarked in the six-yard box but the striker headed over the bar.

Tannadice midfielder Stephen O'Donnell's ferocious left-foot shot cannoned off the post and Thompson just failed to get the rebound.

In the 59th minute, United's pressure paid off when Thompson flicked on a Miller throw-in box and McIntyre came in at the back post to steer the ball in from close range.

Barry Wilson was on target for Livingston

In the 69th minute, Livingston pulled a goal back. A Wilson corner from the right was headed by Dadi back to the unmarked Gary Bollan who volleyed a tremendous shot past Gallacher from 16 yards out.

Six minutes later, the visitors grabbed a remarkable equaliser.

Wilson worked a one-two with Rolando Zarate, who had replaced Quino on the hour mark, and ran clear of the United defence before driving a low shot past Gallacher from just inside the box.

In the 78th minute, the visitors, now full of confidence, took the lead.

A tremendous Bingham cross from the left found Dadi at the far post and the substitute easily turned the ball in from close range.

In injury time Thompon nearly grabbed an equaliser but his shot from 12 yards out came back off the post to the agony of the home fans.
