Ex-Wrexham, Swansea and Wales Under-21 coach Brian Flynn is desperate to succeed Mark Hughes as Wales manager. "I said when I took over the Wrexham job 14 years ago that my long-term ambition was to manage my country and that remains," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"I spoke to the Football Association of Wales before they appointed Bobby Gould, but at the time felt my job at Wrexham had not been completed.
"Now I would tell the FAW to pick up the phone and call me."
Flynn, 49, has been out of work since leaving Swansea in March.

He was keen to pay tribute to the achievements of Hughes in his five years in charge of Wales. "Mark has transformed the team in the last few years and he's leaving a strong squad," said Flynn.
"He will be desperate to lead his country against England and Poland and leave the job on a high."
