Coleraine have signed former Northern Ireland Under-21 striker Sammy Morrow.

Morrow opted not to remain with Derry City after the club's recent financial difficulties and he has agreed an 18-month deal with the Bannsiders.

The striker will not be available for Saturday's Carling Premiership clash against Glenavon as he is awaiting international clearance from the FAI.

However, Morrow should be available next week as he was a free agent and so could sign outside the transfer window.

Portadown were also understood to be chasing the striker.

Morrow had three years at Ipswich after signing for the club in 2001 and he has also had spells at Boston United, Hibernian, Livingston and Partick Thistle.
