Ciaran Martyn put Derry City into the lead away to Bray Wanderers
Second-placed Derry City had to settle for a point away to one-from-bottom Bray Wanderers in the League of Ireland Premier Division on Friday night.
Stephen Kenny's side had led for most of the match at the Carlisle Grounds thanks to a 15th-minute goal from midfielder Ciaran Martyn.
Martyn scored his fourth of the season when he met Liam Kearney's cross with a low finish into the corner of the net.
But Bray got level on 72 minutes through Gary McCabe.
McCabe jinked inside Ger O'Brien's challenge and struck a 20-yard swerving drive that bounced in front of Pat Jennings and flew into the net.
City almost snatched victory with four minutes remaining as Gareth McGlynn floated in a free-kick but the unmarked Steven Gray headed into the ground and over the bar from four yards.
Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers beat Galway 3-1, Cork won 2-1 at Dundalk while St Pat's edged a 2-1 win over Drogheda.
Derry are a point behind leaders Bohemians and a point ahead of third-placed Cork City.
