Derry City maintained their unbeaten start to the season by winning a dramatic League of Ireland Premier Division match 2-1 at Shamrock Rovers.

Shane Robinson missed a 23rd-minute penalty and then City were reduced to ten men when Clive Delaney was sent-off just before the interval.

Dessie Baker scored in the 66th minute but Thomas Stewart replied for the 10-man Candystripes after 73 minutes.

Ciaran Martyn's 86th-minute goal took Derry into second in the league table.

The hosts took the lead when Baker smashed home a half-volley from 10 yards.

Stewart headed past Barry Murphy for the equaliser and then Martyn fired home from the edge of the area.
