 Stephen Kenny looks set to return to Derry City |
Sacked Dunfermline boss Stephen Kenny is expected to agree a three-year deal to return as manager of Derry City. Several newspapers quoted Derry's chairman Pat McDaid on Tuesday saying that the Eircom League club had secured the services of their former boss.
However, Derry later insisted that a deal had yet to be concluded, although negotiations were at an advanced stage.
Kenny is poised to come back to the Brandywell, replacing John Robertson who was axed after just six months.
In his first spell, Kenny guided Derry to the FAI Cup, two League Cups and through two Champions League rounds.
They were also pipped for the league crown on the final day of he season on two occasions.
It is believed Kenny will sign a three-year contract with Derry.
Kenny began his managerial career at Longford Town in 1999, guiding them to promotion to the Premier Division of the Eircom League in his first season.
He won the Irish League title in 2003 with Bohemians but was sacked by the Dublin club the following year.
