 Roy McCreadie's Newry side are on course for a last eight place | Damien Whitehead's second half equaliser in Tuesday's match against Ballymena kept Newry City on target for a quarter-final place in the CIS Cup. Rory Hamill struck Ballymena ahead in the 29th minute after a good through ball from Ciaran Donaghy. Whitehead levelled for Newry in the 72nd minute by heading home a Barry Curran cross. Roy McCreadie's Newry side remain four points clear of Ballymena in Group One - two points behind leaders Portadown.
