Cliftonville surrendered a two-goal lead to crash out of the Nationwide Irish Cup against Irish League Division Two leaders Banbridge Town. Two Nathan McConnell goals put Cliftonville 2-0 up within 21 minutes but David Irwin pulled a goal back for Banbridge before half-time.
Alan Evans levelled for Town on 55 minutes after Paul Straney had been adjudged to have fouled Johnny Kerr.
Liam Fleming's own-goal in the 62nd minute proved to be Banbridge's winner.
Cliftonville will look back on several missed chances in the first half when they were leading 2-0 with McConnell and Sean Friars among the guilty parties.
They Reds then laid siege to the Banbridge goal in the closing stages but the Second Division held out to claim a famous victory.
Banbridge manager Michael Lamont acknowledged that he thought his side "were in for a tanking" after they went 2-0 down early on.
"But we changed things around a bit and David Irwin's goal before half-time gave us a real boost," said Lamont.
"At half-time, we said we would give it a real go in the second half and that's exactly what we did."
