Le Tissier won eight caps for England between 1994-1997
Former Southampton midfielder Matt Le Tissier has refuted media claims that he is interested in coaching England's footballers at penalty kicks.
Le Tissier was reported as saying he could help the squad after both Jermain Defoe and Frank Lampard missed crucial penalties for their clubs last weekend.
But Le Tissier, who scored 47 of the 48 penalties he took in his career, admitted it was only a joke.
He told BBC Guernsey: "I've not had any calls so far, and I don't expect any."
Lampard missed a penalty in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, while a goal from the spot for Defoe would have given his side victory over Everton but they had to settle for a 2-2 draw instead.
Matt Le Tissier's only failed spot-kick was saved by Mark Crossley, as Southampton went down 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest on 24 March 1993.
