Louis Saha will be unable to start for France against Scotland at Hampden Park on Saturday, but Patrick Vieira has overcome his injury scare. BBC Sport understands that Manchester United striker Saha will have to settle for a place on the bench at most after being assessed on Friday evening.
But midfielder Vieira has overcome an ankle injury picked up after colliding with team-mate Lilian Thuram.
And defenders William Gallas and Willy Sagnol have also been passed fit.
France coach Raymond Domenech had called up Lyon defender Sebastien Squillaci as cover for Arsenal's Gallas, who had a hamstring strain.
Domenech also called up Nicolas Anelka after losing Sidney Govou for the Euro 2008 Group B qualifier.
The Bolton striker has not played for Les Bleus since the meeting with Slovakia in March.
Govou scored twice in last month's 3-1 win over Italy.
But he failed to recover from an ankle injury he picked up with Lyon at the weekend and will return to the Ligue 1 champions for further treatment.
And France can call upon David Trezeguet, Saha or Anelka to support superstar striker Thierry Henry.
Saha is suffering from an adductor strain, while Sagnol took a knock in Bayern Munich's Champions League match last week.
