King's Lynn's and Dereham's hopes of extended runs in the FA Cup were halted in Suffolk on Saturday.
The Linnets travelled to Southern League Bury Town but suffered a 2-0 defeat, while Dereham lost 3-1 at Ryman League Lowestoft Town.
Lynn's newly-appointed assistant manager Adam Sinclair said there were promising signs in their performance.
"We're full of industry and have some really good young prospects, they just need a little more help," he said.
"But they'll be fine. I'd have been disappointed if we didn't create, but we could have been 3-0 up at half time."
Bury took the lead with a second-half Gavin Johnson wonder goal after Lynn had hit the woodwork and forced a number of top-class saves from Bury keeper Marcus Garnham before the break.
Callum Kearns rounded off the win for Bury with 12 minutes remaining.
At Crown Meadow, goals from Dereham's Danny Beaumont and Lowestoft's Reese Hunn saw the scores level at half-time.
But the Trawlerboys confirmed their place in Monday's draw with further goals from Adam Smith and Gary McGhee.
