 Haddow impressed as Slough knocked out Walsall |
Slough Town midfielder Alex Haddow has been voted as the FA Cup's player of the round for the first round proper. Haddow, who starred in Slough's shock 2-1 win over League One side Walsall, received over 80,000 votes from fans on the Football Association's website.
"I am over the moon," the 22-year-old former Reading trainee admitted.
"Winning the game was fantastic for everyone at the club and now winning the award is a great confidence booster for the next game."
Looking ahead to the second round, he added: "Yeading will be a tough team to beat, but we are looking forward to it and enjoying every minute of the competition."
Haddow joins Craig Midgley, Scott Partridge, Rob Ursell and Kevin Slack in the "Team of the FA Cup".
He wins �1000 worth of Umbro football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice, as well as an engraved silver salver.
In addition, he and the rest of the "team" will attend the FA Cup final next year, watching from a VIP seat.
