Slack scored five goals
Bishop's Cleeve striker Kevin Slack has been voted FA Cup player of the round.

Slack was up against Shepshed Dynamo's Chris Henson and Skelmersdale United's Lee Thompson after the first qualifying round of the competition.

But after scoring all the goals in his team's 5-3 win over Highworth Town, Slack polled 41.51% of the vote, which was run by the Football Association.

"I am delighted he has won the award," said Bishops Cleeve's boss Paul Collicutt.

The manager added: "Kevin has become a bit of a local celebrity this week."

Slack's nomination was supported by BBC radio Gloucestershire , who encouraged people to vote for him.

"It's absolutely amazing to win the award, I can't believe that the voting turned round so much," said Slack.

"BBC Radio Gloucestershire was fantastic and really supported me throughout the week. I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who voted."

Kevin, whose goals earned Bishop's Cleeve a second Qualifying Round tie at home to AFC Totton this Saturday, wins 1000 worth of Umbro football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice.

He also wins an engraved silver salver and is guaranteed a VIP seat at the FA Cup final next May and a half-time introduction to the crowd.
