Partridge has vast league experience |
Bath City striker Scott Partridge has been voted the FA Cup's player of the round award. Partridge scored all the goals in his team's 3-0 win over Brockenhurst in the FA Cup third qualifying round.
The award was voted for on the FA website and Partridge said: "I am delighted to have won the award.
"It's really nice to know that my performance was appreciated by so many people and that they took the time to go on line and vote for me."
But the announcement comes after a week of controversy, when it emerged that supporters had used a simple script to vote for the same player several times.
After an FA investigation a total of 116,308 votes were discounted from the final result - giving Partridge a winning margin of 4,281.
Partridge, who has played for numerous League clubs, added: "It's disappointing that some unfair voting seemed to have been taking place but I am really pleased that I won in the end."
Partridge wins 1000 worth of Umbro football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice. He also wins an engraved silver salver.
And in addition he will attend the FA Cup final next year, watching from a VIP seat.
