Spurs fightback earns point
Charlton celebrate Jason Euell's second goal

Tottenham 2-2 Charlton

Robbie Keane and Steffen Iversen scored second-half goals as Spurs came from behind to earn a draw at White Hart Lane.

Jason Euell - returning from suspension - had scored twice to seemingly put Charlton in control, but the introduction of Les Ferdinand and Iversen altered the complexion of the match.

Ziege's dismissal was very harsh. I have since spoken to Scott Parker and he said he didn't touch him

Spurs' boss Glenn Hoddle

Iversen set up Keane for Spurs' opening goal and with minutes left Iversen scored with a deft header.

And there was further drama when Christian Ziege was red-carded for the second consecutive game in injury time.

The result ensures Spurs are now unbeaten in six games and Charlton seven.

Euell prepared for the match by watching Only Fools and Horses on Christmas Day - and the striker was all smiles as he opened the scoring after 14 minutes.

Key moments
14 mins: Euell scores his sixth of the season
49 mins: Euell doubles Charlton's lead
68 mins: Keane smashes the ball home
87 mins: Iversen equalises for Spurs
90 mins: Ziege is dismissed

Chris Perry failed to intercept Scott Parker's through ball and Kevin Lisbie advanced towards the Spurs goal before passing for Euell to slip the ball home from 12 yards.

Parker was involved again shortly afterwards, forcing a one-handed save from Kasey Keller with a driven shot across the face of goal.

Lisbie also went close with a header just over the crossbar as Charlton looked to double their advantage.

Keane forced a good save from Dean Kiely as half-time approached but it was a rare moment of excitement for the Tottenham fans, some of whom booed their team off the pitch at the break

Simon Davies, on the scoresheet against Manchester City on Monday, came on at the start of the second-half for Darren Anderton.

But it was Charlton who soon found the net.

Kisbie played Euell through and the in-form striker slotted the ball home at the second attempt after Keller had parried his first attempt.

Spurs poured forward but Charlton, well-organised defensively and solid in midfield, held firm and almost scored a third.

Lisbie knocked a ball across the face of goal towards a completely unmarked Shaun Bartlett but Perry made a crucial interception.

Hoddle then introduced strike duo Iversen and Ferdinand - who had an immediate impact.

Ferdinand went close soon after his arrival and it was Iversen's knockdown that was brilliantly smashed home on the half-volley by Keane.

Even at 2-0 I didn't think the game was over and it was hard work in the last 10 or 15 minutes

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley

Tottenham went all out for an equaliser and after several near misses ensured a share of the points.

Iversen defeated Kiely with a superb header for his first goal of the season.

Davies was later denied by Kiely and Iversen had an effort brilliantly cleared off the line by Richard Rufus as Spurs searched for a winner.

And there was further drama when Ziege followed his late dismissal at Maine Road on Monday with another red card.

The German felt that Parker had made the most of his challenge - which earned a second yellow card - and appeared to cry as he left the pitch.
