1756: The final whistle blows in the final game of the day, and Middlesbrough have completed an excellent 3-1 win over Manchester United.

Joseph-Desire Job restores Middlesbrough's two-goal advantage from a header across by substitute Massimo Maccarone.

1739: David Beckham is on for United and he comes close with a free-kick, and then a shot that deflect just wide off the wall.

1722: Middlesbrough 2-1 Man Utd
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's cross is tapped home by Ryan Giggs, and United are back in it.

Szilard Nemeth muscles his way through the United defence and rifles past Fabien Barthez.

Rooney sees red for the first time

1655: Wayne Rooney's dismissal is the headline from the 1-1 draw at St Andrews between Birmingham and Everton, while Liverpool drop another two points at home, and there are morale-boosting wins for Man City and Leeds.

1648: Middlesbrough 1-0 Man Utd
Franck Queudrue's fine run and pass sets up Alen Boksic to give Boro the lead just before half-time at The Riverside.

1645: Man City 3-1 Aston Villa
The points are definitely staying in Manchester now, as Marc-Vivien Foe gets his second, and City's third.

1643: Man City 2-1 Aston Villa
Substitute Ali Benarbia restores City's advantage.

1642: Everton's Wayne Rooney is sent off for a wild challenge on Birmingham's Steve Vickers.

1641: Sunderland 1-2 Leeds
Robbie Fowler strokes Leeds in front from the penalty spot after Michael Proctor pulls down Harry Kewell.

1635: Liverpool 1-1 Blackburn
Liverpool fail to close down Andy Cole and he makes them pay by thundering the ball into the net from fully 25 yards out.

1610: Sunderland 1-1 Leeds
Jason Wilcox runs onto a cute back-heel from Mark Viduka and his cross is converted by 16-year-old substitute James Milner, who becomes the youngest ever goalscorer in the Premiership.

1551: Full-time at The Hawthorns and Arsenal have come from behind to seal a 2-1 win over West Brom which leaves them four points clear at the top.

Birmingham are behind for barely a minute before Stan Laziridis crosses for Jovan Kirovski to head home their equaliser.

1547: Birmingham 0-1 Everton
Tomasz Radzinski beats the Birmingham offside trap and rounds Nico Vaesen to put Everton ahead just before half-time.

1546: Man City 1-1 Aston Villa
J'Lloyd Samuel breaks down the left and sets up Dion Dublin for the Villa equaliser.

1543: West Brom 1-2 Arsenal
An attempted clearance from Adam Chambers is charged down by Patrick Vieira and falls kindly for Thierry Henry to race through and find the net.

1538: Sunderland 1-0 Leeds
Michael Gray crosses for Michael Proctor who sends a looping header over helpless Leeds keeper Paul Robinson.

1537: Thierry Henry fluffs a golden chance for Arsenal.

1521: Man City 1-0 Aston Villa
City are in front thanks to a left-foot shot from Marc-Vivien Foe.

1517: Liverpool 1-0 Blackburn
John Arne Riise blasts Liverpool ahead with a deflected shot from the edge of the area.

1506: West Brom 1-1 Arsenal
West Brom fail to cut out a cross from the left and Francis Jeffers pounces for the equaliser.

Ricketts hit two as Bolton bagged four

1457: A precious three points for Bolton as they win a seven-goal thriller against Newcastle.

1443: Bolton 4-3 Newcastle
Unbelievably, Newcastle are still in it with ten minutes left as Alan Shearer thumps home their third from 25 yards.

1436: Bolton 4-2 Newcastle
Shola Ameobi pulls one back for Newcastle with a deflected shot.

1427: Bolton 4-1 Newcastle
It gets better and better for Bolton, and Michael Ricketts, who races clear after a mistake from Gary Speed to score his second of the game.

1404: West Brom 1-0 Arsenal
A whirlwind start for West Brom as Daniele Dichio heads home a Jason Koumas corner.

1355: Chelsea miss the chance to go top as they are held by Southampton, while Spurs and West Ham battle back to draw with Charlton and Fulham respectively.

1354: An unbelievable last-minute scramble in the Southampton box at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea try everything for a late goal. But if they don't score, it will be a deserved point for the Saints.

1351: A dramatic finale at White Hart Lane, with Spurs pushing forward but without Christian Ziege for the final few minutes after he is sent off for a second bookable offence.

1350: Bolton 3-1 Newcastle
Michael Ricketts justifies his return to the Bolton attack by converting Per Frandsen's cross.

1349: West Ham are down to ten men... and perhaps it's no surprise that it's Tomas Repka who is sent off for dissent.

Simon Davies crosses for fellow substitute Steffen Iversen to head home his first goal of the season, and seemingly salvage a point for Spurs.

Robbie Keane gives Spurs some hope with a spectacular right-foot volley.

1321: West Ham 1-1 Fulham
It's a lifeline for West Ham, with a penalty somewhat harshly awarded for handball by Sylvain Legwinski. Trevor Sinclair steps up... and scores from the spot.

1310: Bolton 2-1 Newcastle
It's gone goal-crazy at the Reebok, with a third goal in the opening ten minutes, and another fine Bolton strike, this time from Ricardo Gardner.

1309: Bolton 1-1 Newcastle
Alan Shearer equalises almost immediately for the Magpies.

1246: Chris Marsden does well to shut off a good opportunity for Chelsea's Enrique de Lucas.

Middlesbrough have Mark Wilson in for the injured George Boateng in midfield. And Roy Keane returns to the Man Utd side, along with Laurent Blanc and Juan Veron - Phil Neville and Diego Forlan drop to the bench alongside David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand.

1500 kick-offs
Robbie Savage is fit enough to start for Birmingham, while Joseph Yobo is back in the Everton defence, but at right-back to cover the injured Tony Hibbert.

Liverpool recall Emile Heskey and Vladimir Smicer for Milan Baros and Salif Diao at home to Blackburn, who have David Thompson back for the injured David Dunn,

Ali Benarbia stays on the bench for Man City at home to Aston Villa, who bring in Mark Kinsella and Ulises de la Cruz.

Michael Proctor starts for Sunderland, while Mark Viduka and Eirik Bakke replace Jonathon Woodgate and Robbie Fowler for Leeds.

1400 kick-off
Francis Jeffers get a rare start for Arsenal and Patrick Vieira returns. West Brom are without captain Derek McInnes, who could be sidelined for some time after dislocating his shoulder on Christmas Eve.

1300 kick-off
Bolton recall Michael Ricketts after his goal at West Ham, with Kevin Nolan relegated to the bench. Mike Whitlow replaces the injured Bruno N'Gotty. Newcastle make just one change, with Shola Ameobi in for Craig Bellamy.

1200 kick-offs
Chelsea make six changes, including the likes Ed de Goey, Celestine Babayaro and Boudewijn Zenden, while Gianfranco Zola also returns. Jo Tessem starts for Southampton at the expense of Brett Ormerod.

Teddy Sheringham is fit enough to return for Spurs and Gus Poyet is preferred to Simon Davies, while Jason Euell returns from suspension for Charlton, who are also to include Richard Rufus in defence.

Both West Ham and Fulham are able to welcome back key strikers, with Frederic Kanoute finally fit again for the Hammers, and Facundo Sava for Fulham.
