New signing Danny Edwards has joined AFC Telford United's fight for promotion to the Blue Square Premier following his arrival from Redditch.

"As soon as I heard Telford wanted me, it was a no-brainer," he told Radio Shropshire. "They're an ambitious club.

"Living nearby I've kept tabs on how they've progressed so quickly."

Edwards also revealed he could have signed two years ago. "It didn't happen then, but it's good to know Telford kept tabs on me," he added.

Bucks assistant manager Larry Chambers admitted: "We've known about him for some time.

"Left-sided players are difficult to get and we needed greater balance, so we thought it a good time to get him in.

"He's fit, athletic, he has a good pedigree and a good left foot, and he can play in various positions.

"He's a good acquisition for the squad."

Edwards, who signed from Redditch last week, made his Bucks debut on Saturday, coming off the bench in the 5-0 win at Hucknall Town.
